A crane business is being prosecuted after the death of 3 males at a building and construction website in Crewe.
Falcon Tower Crane Services will appear in Chester Crown Court on Friday (6 October) charged with of health and wellness breaches following a deadly crane collapse 6 years back.
Rhys Barker, 18, from Castleford, David Newall, 36, from Bradford, and David Webb, 43, from Northampton all passed away following the event at a Seddon website on Dunwoody Way, Crewe, in June 2017.
Barker and Newall, who worked as crane erectors for the business, passed away at the scene while Webb, an electrical contractor dealing with the crane, passed away 6 weeks later on.
The event resulted in require an evaluation of policy surrounding making use of tower cranes, consisting of the reintroduction of a nationwide register.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) stated the charges followed a “long and complicated” examination.
