Google and Taito’s brand-new increased truth video game that lets you wave around your phone to damage AR Area Invaders aliens is out now on Android and iOS. The 2 business revealed the video game, Area Invaders: World Defenseat Google I/O in May.

The release is coming at a time when lots of other AR video games aren’t doing so well. While Niantic’s Pokémon Go has actually been a big success, the studio has actually closed down video games from huge brand names like Harry Potter Transformersand the NBA and laid off staff members. And it hasn’t simply been Niantic that’s had a hard time; Microsoft closed down a Minecraft AR video game in 2021 and CD Projekt Red simply closed down its The Witcher AR video game.

I’m not exactly sure if World Defense is going to escalate into a Pokémon Go-sized hit, however the core principle of blasting a virtual alien by pointing your phone at the world around you appears like it might be enjoyable. The video game looks like it might be a great display of Google’s ARCore innovation, which assists power the video game. And you can take a ridiculous AR selfie in a Area Invaders-themed clothing, so there’s that.

We’ll have to wait and see if there’s sufficient to Area Invaders: World Defense to keep individuals interested after the novelty wears away. If you wish to inspect the video game out, you can get it on Google Play and the App Store.
